Building Permits

When do I need a building permit?

Building a deck, re-roofing your house, finishing your basement? Then you most likely need a building permit.  In general, a permit is required for most construction projects where something is being built, repaired, replaced, or remodeled. 

In order to obtain a building permit, you must complete a building permit application and submit it with all the required documents.  The type of work you’ll be doing will determine what type of required documents will be needed.  Some applications can be processed immediately while others may need to be reviewed with your plans for the project.  The review process usually takes just a few days at which time we’ll contact you so you can pay for the permit and pick it up.
