Ice Rinks

Zimmerman's two outdoor ice rinks are flooded in the winter as soon as temperatures get low enough to make good ice. The rinks stay open until the ice begins to deteriorate, usually mid February. Zimmerman's ice rinks are designed for both pleasure skating and hockey and are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis or you can reserve the Hockey Rink for a fee. Amenities include lighted rinks from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days a week and a warming house facility. A new fire pit and seating have been added in 2021.  People interested in scheduling ice time for hockey practice should contact City Hall at 763-856-4666 ext.1021.

Please keep in mind that the Hockey rink is a NHL-sized rink, 85' x 200'. Many younger youth teams renting this rink for practice have split the rink in half and have been able to accommodate two teams at a time--thus saving on rental fees. The rinks are located in the southwest corner of Lions' Park just beyond the left-field fence of the Fred Schultz baseball field. To access the rinks, travel south from Fremont Avenue (County Road 4). After passing the Zimmerman High School, turn left onto 8th Avenue South. Continue on 8th Avenue South until you come to 2nd Street West. Parking lot will be on the left hand side.

The Hockey Rink Fee is $100.00/hour plus tax Tuesday & Wednesday's from 5-10pm with a damage deposit of $100.00.
